Voice services continue to be a vital component of your telecom services. From traditional analog lines to SIP and Hosted IP services, ENG can work with you to provide a comprehensive solution for your business.

Voice Service Options

POTS

Plain Old Telephone Service are the copper lines that the traditional telephone companies have been using for years. The major Local Exchange Carriers, or LECs, are trying to get these services decommissioned so they can stop supporting them. Many customers continue to use them for faxes, alarms, etc., but the prices continue to increase for these services.

PRI: ISDN

Primary Rate Interface, or PRI, has been a standard for years used by many businesses. It is a digital service providing 23 voice channels and has proven to be one of the most reliable services. Direct Inward Dial numbers, or DIDs, allow the customer to have as many phone numbers as needed. A common ration would include 100 DID numbers utilizing the 23 channels or call paths.

SIP

Session Initiated Protocol is becoming more prevalent with multi-location customers and those with phone systems that are end of life. Calls are transferred over the data network, so a solid internet or data connection is required to maximize the call quality.

HOSTED IP Phones (UCaaS)

Many businesses today prefer their telephone equipment to be an operating cost instead of a capital investment. Unified Communications as a Service is now the term for using the cloud and your internet connection to support your telephone equipment. Depending on the service provider, your phones can be purchased, leased or rented. Most telecom companies have gotten into this space, so we can inform you on all the options available.
